A Team Without Borders

We built Skema's team around talent, not geography. We're confident we've got the best people for the job because we built a virtual team, not a local one.

You’ll find us in Atlanta, Boston, San Francisco, Minneapolis, Chicago, New York, and our Dev Team based in Europe.

Led by architects, engineers, and software pioneers

We formed Skema to solve a thorny problem we've experienced firsthand: too much valuable design knowledge is lost between concept and production. Our solutions fast-forward the design process through AI-Powered Schematic Design and BIM Automation

Tackling a decades-long problem

Moving from conceptual design to BIM has meant recreating work, rebuilding models, and losing design intelligence along the way

Founded in 2023

Skema's mission is to make a firm's design knowledge reusable — so every new project starts from what the firm has already proven, not from a blank page.

Rework is no longer acceptable

As project complexity and speed-to-market demands rise, leveraging proven design knowledge is becoming fundamental to how projects are delivered.

Chief Technology Officer + Co-Founder

Richard Harpham

Richard Harpham has experienced most of the highs and lows of bringing disruptive technology to developers, designers and contractors. He was an early hire at the start-up, Revit Inc., and then after Revit was acquired by Autodesk, spent nine years helping to bring it and a ‘new’ concept of BIM to the U.S. market. At the same time, he also led global marketing for AutoCAD and all Autodesk AEC products. More recently, at Katerra, he led software strategy to support transformational changes in how buildings are designed, engineered, and delivered.

Our approach

Our approach

Every decision we make comes back to one goal:
Keep design knowledge from disappearing at every handoff

Eliminate
the disconnect

  • Maintain continuity across every phase. Skema carries design intelligence forward instead of losing it at each handoff.

  • Deliver a connected workflow. Skema integrates with commonly used tools under one connected system.

  • Democratize complex technology. With Skema, powerful tools are within reach for everyone on the team.

Reuse proven
design knowledge

Reuse proven
design knowledge

With Skema, every project begins with your proven knowledge.
Every new solution strengthens the knowledge base.
Every design joins your library of expertise.
Knowledge compounds instead of disappearing.

Your intellectual
property, protected

Your designs stay yours. Skema keeps each firm’s design catalog private and separate from every other customer, and never uses it to train models.

Design Intelligence,
Always in Motion

Skema continues to advance a design platform that captures reusable design knowledge, automates repetitive work, supports better decisions, and produces deliverables teams can trust.

What we've built?

What we've built?

Skema is

Skema is

Skema is web-based 3D software that's a lighter way to work with Revit in the browser. As a cloud-native connected environment, there are no files or file formats to manage. It's built to integrate with the other authoring tools you already use.

With an analytic model at its core and bidirectional sync with Revit, Skema is a design and delivery platform that can handle the complexity real buildings demand: layered engineered systems, intricate spatial relationships, large-scale project data.
